On the Patreon Site – We look at times of great disorder in the nations’ capitol particularly. We look at the 1861 plan to start an insurrection early by cutting off Abraham Lincoln’s inaugural train and seizing Washington with para military forces. Then we look at various protests that were decisively quelled by the local and Federal authorities. No contextualiation can excuse or provide much comfort in regards the recent tragic events. Few events compare in terms of scope and intention, but we do look at how angry groups in D.C. were handled differently over time. In the case of the 1932 and 1933 Bonus Army marchers, two Presidents handled hungry and unemployed veterans in two different ways.
